Where and How to Buy the Best Granite Countertop in Toronto

Difference Between Natural Stone Distributor & Fabricator

Distributor? Fabricator? Who do you contact when you need a nice slab of granite for your kitchen, or natural stone enough to cover the floor of your bathroom for the remodeling? Here's the breakdown of who does what in the renovation process.

Distributors/Wholesalers

Like many industries, there is always a distributor/wholesaler who gathers the best products for the trade and distributes it to vendors. In the natural stone world, distributors, also known as wholesalers, searches all over the world for the best stones. Natural stone distribution showrooms consist of a vast selection of these natural stone slabs. Customers can shop around and ask the knowledgeable showroom representatives any questions regarding their selections. Once a slab is selected, you can order the material through your fabricator who will determine the amount required for your renovation. The natural stone will then be shipped to your fabricator for processing.

Fabricator

Fabricators are the experts who measures and templates the project area (i.e. kitchen counter or bathroom floor). Then they will calculate the amount of material required and orders the selected stone from the distributors. Once the stone is in their workshop, the fabricators will refine the raw material by shaping and polishing it. Care is given to ensure the best view of the patterns, shading, veins and other features is set forth since each piece of natural stone varies. The last step consists of the grinding and polishing of the edge based on the customer's choice. When done by a well trusted, experienced fabricator, the finished product will be stunning.

So if you are just in the beginning stages of your kitchen or bathroom renovation, start off by checking out various natural stone wholesalers and their wide selections available. Or, contact Best Buy Granite and one of our representatives will show you the extensive collection our affiliated wholesalers carry and we will make your dream kitchen/bathroom a reality.
